Prince Lee Boo Rises To Test The Waters (1997)
(extract from original text)
The history of Prince Lee Boo and the circumstances that led him to board a Packet ship heading for England in the late eighteenth century is a fascinating one. I discovered this history form people who had grown-up in and around the Rotherhithe area in South East London. Lee Boo is by no means a forgotten person, evidenced by Rupack Street (renamed in memory of the Prince, which means ‘chief’); and his headstone where he is entombed close by in St. Mary’s Church Yard.
